On October 12, 2008 Lorenzo spear headed our chapter with a GOTV project in Pontiac at the St. Vincent De Paul church. We took surveys on what people felt were the most important issues to them and handed out information on their rights as voters for the up coming elections. It's important to be out in the community and to help educate others on the importance of getting involved and voting. Thank you to those who helped in this effort. For their hard work, sacrifice and dedication.

"La Amistad" senior citizen luncheon

Our next event is our annual senior citizen luncheon that we sponsor for "La Amistad". It will be held on December 13, 2008 at the Ruth Peterson building in Pontiac on Joslyn Rd. from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The luncheon is pot luck, donated by our chapter members. The doors will open at 9:00am for those who will be bringing in food. We should begin serving at 11:00am. We are in need of food commitments and volunteers to help make this a successful event.
